Ankilozan Spondilit'li (AS) hastalarda nörolojik semptom ve bulgulara nadiren rastlanmaktadır. Bu belirti ve bulgular, altta yatan ilerleyici araknoidit ya da kauda ekina sendromu, atlantoaksiyal subluksasyon, travmatik spinal kırık ve dislokasyon gibi nedenlerden kaynaklanabilir. Ayrıca bazı AS'li hastalarda multipl skleroz (MS) benzeri bir tablonun ortaya çıkması, araştırmacıları bu iki hastalığın birlikteliğini araştırmaya yönlendirmiştir. Bu yazıda AS tanısı ile izlenmekte iken MS gelişen bir olgu sunularak literatür ışığında iki hastalığın birlikteliği gözden geçirilecektir.

In patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) neurological signs and symptoms are rarely encountered. These signs and symptoms can originate from the underlying progressive arachnoiditis or the cauda equine syndrome, atlantoaxial subluxation, or traumatic spinal fracture or dislocation. However, in some patients with AS, a clinic condition resembling Multiple Sclerosis (MS) lead some authors to investigate the association between these two diseases. In the present article, a case with AS, in whom MS developed during follow-up was presented, with the aim of reviewing the association of these two conditions under the light of the literature.
